
Dr. Brittany Peterson is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, and a movement instructor. She has taught yoga, Pilates, and other forms of movement for almost 10 years, and is deeply interested in the way the physical body so beautifully relates to our mental and emotional state.
Dr. Britt, with her background in movement instruction, has fostered a deep passion for orthopedic acupuncture. She integrates her expertise in Pilates and acupuncture to tackle postural imbalances, bolster strength and improve the function of deep core muscles. she studied Orthopedic Acupuncture focusing in on Motor Points for stability and treatment of pain and injury with Jenny Nieters, L.Ac., the acupuncturist for the 49ers NFL team. While her focus is mainly on orthopedics and sports injuries, she also enjoys helping patients with stress and anxiety, women’s health issues, and recovery from surgery.
Dr. Britt earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine (DAIM). She focused her doctoral research on providing natural, preventative healthcare to teens and young adults. She is passionate about working with this population to find holistic solutions to anxiety, depression, and stress.
Dr. Britt discovered the profound effects of Chinese Medicine after a Vespa accident in her twenties. She experienced long-term healing through acupuncture, herbs, and consistent Pilates exercise. It was through her recovery that Dr. Britt discovered her deep desire to become a Chinese Medicine practitioner and help others to heal using this ancient, indigenous medicine.
Dr. Britt is inspired by creating with others, sharing knowledge, and advocating for what she believes in. When not practicing, teaching, or learning, you can find Britt reading novels in a cozy nook somewhere, soaking in natural hot springs, and exploring her local and worldly surroundings.
